TutorCruncher alternatives include Oases Online, Teachworks, TutorBird, Wise (wise.live), Halqora, Classcard, Teach ‘n Go and LearnCube. Shortlist them by billing costs, currency handling, group teaching or classroom needs; Halqora fits one-to-one live classes with per-student currencies.
Halqora is our product. We’ve tried to keep this comparison fair: competitor details come from their public pages, checked on the date shown. Tell us if anything is out of date at support@halqora.com.
TutorCruncher alternatives: the short answer
For agency administration, start with Oases Online, Teachworks and TutorBird. For international billing, examine Wise (wise.live) and, for one-to-one classes, Halqora. For group teaching, examine Classcard and Teach ‘n Go. For classroom needs, examine LearnCube. These are different shortlists because replacing billing software and replacing a teaching room are different decisions.
A lower subscription does not settle the choice. Identify the work that causes trouble now: calculating wages, reconciling family payments, maintaining class links or handling groups. Keep the functions that already work on your requirements list. Replacing a useful connection with manual work can erase a subscription saving.
How we chose and ordered these tools
The tools are grouped by the reason for switching, rather than ranked by quality. Within each group, order follows closeness to TutorCruncher’s core administrative job, rather than alphabetical order. Halqora appears in the international academy group because per-student currency billing matters there; its one-to-one class limit still applies.
Competitor details below come from the supplied public pricing, feature and help pages, checked as of 21 October 2026. A vendor’s feature description is evidence of what the vendor advertises, not a result from testing your workflow. We have not used review ratings or treated an unclear page as proof that a feature is absent.
Compare the same records in each demo. Use your actual class schedule, family billing arrangement, student currencies and teacher rates. Ask the vendor to show the resulting invoice and payroll calculation. Our guide to tutoring software pricing models explains why a cheap starting price can produce a different monthly total.

Alternatives with similar agency billing and payroll
Oases Online: approved sessions and detailed reporting
Oases Online is worth considering when your agency needs approved teaching records to feed billing and payroll. According to its homepage, Oases offers 70+ standard reports and a tutor-matching marketplace as of 21 October 2026. Those are concrete reasons to include Oases when reporting depth matters more than a built-in classroom.
Oases lists active-student bands, from USD 99/month for up to 25 active students to USD 699/month for 350, as of 21 October 2026. The public page offers a demo without stating a free trial. Ask the demo team to map your approval process and show what happens when a session changes after review.
Oases describes Stripe payments and external classroom integrations. Check those against your existing collection and teaching setup. Student-band pricing can be easier to budget than a payment percentage, but compare the band you actually need rather than treating the entry price as your expected bill.
Teachworks: integrations and lesson-based charges
Teachworks is a useful candidate when connecting existing tools is central to the decision. Its integrations page advertises 80+ free integrations and add-ons as of 21 October 2026, including QuickBooks Online and Google Calendar. If your office depends on those connections, ask Teachworks to demonstrate the exact data flow you need.
According to Teachworks’ pricing page, Growth is USD 47.99/month plus USD 0.189 per student lesson, and Premium is USD 187.99/month plus USD 0.065 per student lesson, as of 21 October 2026. Compare plans using your actual student-lesson volume. More teaching changes the bill even when the student roster stays stable.
Teachworks’ converted invoice totals add-on deserves a close look if currency handling is your reason for leaving TutorCruncher. Displaying a converted total is different from maintaining each student’s invoices and payments in that student’s currency. Ask the demo team to show both the family view and the administrative ledger. The Teachworks alternatives comparison provides another route through that decision.
TutorBird: a smaller team’s cost structure
TutorBird suits a shortlist where the main issue is subscription cost for a small staff. Its pricing adds a charge for each additional tutor or staff member, rather than charging per student lesson. Count every staff account you need when comparing the published rate with your current bill.
TutorBird’s feature page lists Stripe and PayPal, and its payroll page describes a multi-tutor workflow, as of 21 October 2026. Bring your own wage records to a demo and ask how adjustments are reviewed. Currency handling and the classroom need separate confirmation because the public-page gaps noted above are unresolved, not proof of absence.
Alternatives for international online academies
Wise (wise.live): international tutoring with Zoom
Wise (wise.live), the tutoring software, is different from Wise (wise.com), the payment provider. According to the tutoring software’s pricing page, Zoom is included and payment options include Stripe, Razorpay and regional gateways, as of 21 October 2026. That combination is worth examining when your families need a particular payment route.
The published session price is 0.69, with no currency stated, as of 21 October 2026. Do not compare that figure with a dollar or pound subscription until the vendor confirms the currency and what counts as a session or seat. Ask for a written calculation based on your schedule, including gateway charges and the applicable plan.
Halqora: currencies per student within a narrow teaching scope
Halqora is management software for online academies and tutoring businesses from Talt AI; Murouj Academy runs on it. Halqora schedules, bills and calculates teacher pay for one-to-one classes. Siblings have separate classes but can share a family invoice.
Each student has a currency, and invoices stay in that currency. Halqora does not convert invoices. A family account containing different student currencies needs admin attention before billing. Dashboard USD totals are approximate, so use the currency-specific invoice and payment records when checking amounts owed.
Monthly billing runs create draft invoices for admin review and sending. Unpaid invoices receive automatic email reminders; invoice sending requires review. Families use private invoice pages and PDFs without signing in. A permanent private class link shows the next class, and replacing a link stops the old link from working.
Teacher outcomes feed fixed outcome rules. Teachers record completed classes with reports, student no-shows or student cancellations; admins resolve other cases and enter late or wait minutes. Internal lesson reports contain a rating and written feedback. Families cannot see those reports, and payroll waits for required reports. Halqora calculates teacher pay but does not transfer wages.
As of 21 October 2026, Starter is USD 39/mo up to 25 active students. Academy is USD 2.50 per active student per month, USD 99 minimum. Scale is custom for 300+ students. Annual billing gives 2 months free, and the 14-day pilot includes free onboarding and data import.
Choose Halqora when those limits fit your academy, rather than expecting a general tutoring platform. Halqora uses scheduling rules in each IANA time zone, but class and payroll rules are fixed in this version. You can set invoice due days, reminder schedules and email wording. See Halqora vs TutorCruncher in detail for the narrower comparison.
Alternatives for group classes and parent apps
Classcard: class-based schools and regional payments
Classcard belongs on the shortlist for class-based academies, especially when regional payment gateways matter. According to Classcard’s pricing page, Starter is USD 99/month, Growth is USD 199/month and Business is USD 349/month as of 21 October 2026. The published trial lasts 7 days.
Classcard places recurring billing and accounting integrations on Growth, according to the same page. Compare the plan containing your required workflow rather than the cheapest plan. In a demo, ask the vendor to show group enrollment, parent access and payment collection together, using the way your school actually charges families.
Teach ‘n Go: group schools and parent access
Teach ‘n Go is another candidate for schools with group classes, parent apps and multilingual needs. According to Teach ‘n Go’s pricing page, the starting plan is EUR 69/month or USD 79/month for up to 100 live students, with a 14-day trial, as of 21 October 2026.
Ask the vendor to define a live student and demonstrate your parent communication workflow. Also ask for a walkthrough of teacher pay and online teaching if you need those functions. A good group-school fit does not settle every administrative requirement. Halqora’s current one-to-one model makes these group-focused tools more suitable when groups are essential.
LearnCube: when the classroom drives the decision
LearnCube is the classroom-first option in this roundup. According to LearnCube’s pricing page, Virtual Classroom Basic is free, Pro starts at USD 19 and Online School Premium starts at USD 99, as of 21 October 2026. The listed billing period is not stated, so confirm it before comparing monthly costs.
LearnCube lists scheduling, reminders and attendance reporting with Online School Premium, while payments, enrollments and analytics sit on Enterprise, as of 21 October 2026. Start with the teaching room if that is your main problem. Then confirm how the chosen plan connects classroom activity to the administrative work you need to retain.
When to stay on TutorCruncher
TutorCruncher may remain the better choice when its existing connections are central to your office. Its integrations page lists Xero, QuickBooks, GoCardless and an API as of 21 October 2026. Halqora does not provide those capabilities. Replacing them with manual work needs a clear benefit elsewhere.
According to TutorCruncher’s UK pricing page, Pay as you go is GBP 25/month with a 2.65% card charge and 1% offline charge; Startup is GBP 60/month and Enterprise is GBP 200/month, as of 21 October 2026. Ask which charges apply to your payment mix before deciding that the pricing model is the problem.
TutorCruncher’s currency documentation describes branch currencies and ad hoc charges. If that arrangement already fits your business, changing systems for currency handling may offer little value. Keep TutorCruncher on the shortlist and require the alternative to demonstrate a specific improvement in the work that prompted the search.
How to migrate without losing data
A migration needs an agreed cutoff and a record of what moved. Export clients, students, tutors, rates and upcoming lessons before changing either system. Keep copies of invoices, payment records and payroll history. Ask TutorCruncher about available exports and continued access rather than assuming a read-only account will remain available.
Agree which system owns each open invoice and scheduled class. Avoid sending the same family an invoice from both systems. Preserve original records for history, and confirm which records the new vendor can import without changing their meaning. Free import assistance does not remove the need to check the result.
Reconcile imported student currencies, rates, family relationships and upcoming lessons against the original records. Review a draft invoice and a teacher payment calculation before sending anything. Use these questions to ask in a tutoring software demo to make import boundaries and billing review part of the selection decision.
Check Halqora’s pricing and pilot terms if its teaching scope matches your academy.
